Stayin' alive !! : Part 1

Hello dear readers, hope you are safe and doing well. Thank you for the response on the last blog, really sorry for this long delay. Here is a new story for you, Happy reading.

It had been almost four to five years since Akshit, Pavitra, Shailaja and Tara had left school,  they became really close friends from the eighth grade. In the tenth, they realized that they all wan to pursue different professions, Akshit wanted to become a journalist , Pavitra wanted to become a doctor, whereas Shailaja wanted to become a CA and Tara was gonna do  engineering. They made a small pact that they will always stay in touch with each other and would make sure to at least meet each other before their final year exams. they all left for different colleges, and stayed true to their word. They made a whatsapp group and would video call each other every month. Every video call was once step closer towards seeing each other. From the last one week the whatsapp group had been going crazy, a date was finally fixed, at the cafe near St. Regis school, where they all had gone before their farewell.

Akshit had felt this kind of rush after a really long time, he was interning at a news channel, he was granted a sick leave and was now going through his closet looking for his best T-shirt and ironing it in advance and keeping everything ready. As he put his ironed T-shirt on the hanger, he reminisced keeping his uniform and bag ready the night before school. "Those were some really good days, at least didn't need to hunt the closet for clothes", he thought to himself. He had kept his alarm for eight in the morning. Sitting on his bed he texted, " Guys, sharp twelve , excited to see youuuu" and all replied with their 'Yaaasss' and GN's. So it was morning and Akshit was as usual running ahead of time, in case there would be traffic, he was so excited that he left home at eleven fifteen itself, Checking the GPS he found that he was gonna reach his destination by eleven forty, though he didn't mind it this time because that gave him the time to pay a short visit to his school alone, before he could with the other's.

As he walked through the front gate, he saw how there were a few new teacher's, kids with bags bigger than themselves, and the beautiful and magnificent church which would overlook on the whole school and ground from a top a small elevated ground. As he left he saw Mrs. Kuriakose, their science teacher, who would always give the class a ted talk on life, which sometimes were just too heavy for their young brains or just the thing Akshit needed to console himself or give direction to his actions ahead. She wasn't everyone's favourite teacher but she was for Akshit, she wasn't very lively and looked really tired and would get irritated very easily but one can't blame her because the government does treat teacher's as if they were dead, they had to educate students to make them better people in life, guide them and in return all they would get is disrespect from students and peanuts for salary. Since she would never take a leave it was a running joke in school that she will even come from her grave to teach them, and so she was bestowed with the name 'Undertaker'. He first had a spurt of joy and sentiments, but he couldn't believe his eyes because she was supposed to retire that year itself, she had only told their class about this, "did she lie to us ? or am I just too taken over by nostalgia ?". As he was about to call her, she disappeared into the passage. He saw his watch, it was eleven fifty-seven, so he rushed to the cafe when someone honked and called him..
